Thomas Weil and Tobias Platt of the Hoboken Charter School 4th grade have placed 1st in the NJ North Elementary School division of The Stock Market Game 2014 -2015 Yearlong session. There were a total of 66 teams competing. HCS is now in its second consecutive year of taking the first place title within the NJ North Elementary School division. Thomas and Tobias worked cooperatively throughout the year under the direction of classroom teacher Courtney Leahy to research and invest 100,000 virtual dollars in stocks using the Stock Market Game website. Their total equity from October to April increased from $100,000 to $121,584. They are invited to attend a ceremony in May at Pershing Plaza in Jersey City where they will be presenting a speech about their experience with the game.
